This is a favorite recipe that we fix at work (fire station) often. It is not real spicy.
FIREHOUSE CHILI
3 lbs ground chuck
1 lb ground sausage
4 pkgs McCormick Chili Seasoning
2 large green peppers, chopped
2 large onions, chopped
2 sticks butter
2 large cans pinto beans
2 large cans diced tomatoes
2 large cans tomato juice
2 cans tomato sauce
Dash Italian seasoning
Fresh ground pepper to taste
Fresh ground sea salt to taste
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp rosemary
1/2 tsp thyme
1 tsp basil
3 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp hot sauce
Brown ground chuck and sausage, then drain.
Saute peppers and onions in butter.
Combine all other ingredients and bring to a soft boil.
Add chuck and sausage.
Add peppers and onion.
Simmer 3-4 hours. _________________ Pickle & Debbie
